My first camera was a Rollei 35SE, which I took with me when I traveled around the world, so many years ago. I still do have this camera, although since I switched to SLR's and digital cameras it hasn't gotten much use. Recently I purchased the CanonG10 and it reminds me a lot of the old Rollei. I think this will be the perfect little traveling camera. I know, I know, running a portrait studio I should be staying closer to home and ignore the traveling bug. And after a fantastic trip to Greece, Austria and Switzerland in 2009, I am planning to stay close to home for a while. Yes, I guess you figured it out, I do love to travel. I think it has to do with meeting new people and exploring new places. Which of course has let me to my job: photographing new people in many new locations. My photography carrier has been very rewarding and I have met incredible people.
Every June I volunteer to take team pictures at the Relay for Life Cancer Society foundraiser. In December I get to take Pet Photos with Mrs. Claus at Dogwood Petmart for SPCA. What a pleasure it is to give a little back!.
I grew up in Switzerland were my parents had the best bakery in the whole world! At 20 I finished my office apprenticeship in an ad agency and decided it was time to see the world. By some lucky fluke I ended up on beautiful Vancouver Island and started working at the local newspaper in Campbell River. I had the best job ever, printing the photos the reporters took. I got so hooked on photography that in 1998 I decided to take the plunge and join the self-employed. It has its ups and downs and sometimes I wish I had a steady paycheck. But when I am behind the lense and see the beauty in people I know I will always be a photographer. It is a gift to have the ability to see the beauty in shapes, lines, colors and smiles, and mix it all up into a beautiful portrait. Reminds me a bit of cooking which I love to do as well.
Other interests I have are swimming, hiking, dragon boating, flamenco dancing, sewing, reading and reorganizing my camera equipment into a smaller bag.

And above all I aim to have fun every day and wish you the same!
